Now
summer is truly underway and the temperatures are rising we must continue to
care for our lawns and plants.
Give the
lawn a fast acting summer feed, if needed aerate the soil and regularly water to
keep the lawn looking fresh and green. Deadhead bedding plants and hanging
baskets, this will encourage continuous growth and keep the flowering displays
”blooming gorgeous” all summer long!
From the outside in…
The
summer days often encourage us to spend more time outside, but it is also a
time to think about bringing the summer colours of the garden inside to
brighten any room. If you have a conservatory or garden room it is easier to
keep these rooms looking like they are part of the outdoors. They offer plenty
of light, fresh air and greenery. However, any room can be inspired by the
garden, just make a few simple changes; there are some colourful floral
wallpapers available which can be used as a feature wall, some of my favorites
can be found at www.harlequin.uk.com, www.farrow-ball.com & www.sanderson-uk.com
The
wallpapers can be complimented by fresh summer paint shades, a suitable range
can be found from Next, Farrow & Ball, Fired Earth, Laura Ashley and
Sanderson.
Finally, add a vase and some summer blooms fresh from the garden, add a natural jute or seagrass rug to the floor, a bright throw and some scatter cushions to a sofa, then gather together an arrangement of candles and lanterns and the feeling of the outdoors will be soon be felt within.
